"Cold Krummholz" is an 11.75 by 23.5 inch oil on wood panel painting by Rebecca M. Fullerton, depicting the socked-in summit of North Twin Mountain in New Hampshire's White Mountains. The ground, trees and rocks are coated in snow and rime ice in this chilling winter scene.

This scene was painted after a fall hike up North Twin in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. In the valley below all was falling leaves and a gentle rain. Up above the trail grew progressively snowier. The summit was all wind, snow and cloud; a stunning and awe-inspiring space in which to feel the weather's power. I stayed but a few minutes before moving on to South Twin summit, then retreating the way I had come to warmer climes below.
