The Ramparts are a big tumble of rocks at the base of the steep slopes of Carter Notch in New Hampshire's White Mountains. They are labyrinth of boulders, nooks, crannies and caves. A great place to explore and imagine the giant, geological events that created this area. The mountains show their full ruggedness here. I tried to capture that and just the right blue of a perfect summer day.
