"The Brooklet," framed 12.5x14.5 inch watercolor and ink painting on paper (SOLD)
"Once, in a noonday trance,
I saw A glimmer of white,
A wonder of light,
A radiance of crystal without a flaw,
Shining through moss and fern,
Glimpsing and hiding, with many a turn,
Yet coming, by some sweet law"
-Lucy Larcom, "A Mountain Bridal"
The White Mountains of New Hampshire are full of little brooks and streams that glitter down their slopes among the mosses and trees. I love seeing them pour out of the woods and across the trail at my feet. Some form lovely waterfalls hidden back in the woods; little sparkling altars to water and trees.
