Looking down from the top of the Isolation Trail on Mount Washington, a vast wilderness stretches out at your feet. Rock cairns and trail blazes are there to lead the way, but you're truly "out there" when you get down into those forests. The White  Mountains of New Hampshire and Maine have some deep wild places.
