"Mount Washington from Boott Spur" is an 11.75 by 23.5 inch oil on panel painting by Rebecca M. Fullerton, depicting the distant summit of Mount Washington from the rocky, rolling summit of Boott Spur, in New Hampshire's White Mountains. A rock cairn stands sentinel in the foreground and huge, white thunderhead clouds loom overhead.

Some of my favorite spots are the big alpine flats around the eastern sides of Mount Washington, New England's tallest peak. Boott Spur is just such a place. Alpine flowers and plants, trails, cairns and summits are all around you. I attempted to capture the big sky here with its dramatic clouds and the movement of the weather over a peak that is known for some of the worst weather in the world. The views up here are unparalleled.
