Imagine the quiet sparkle of sunlight through bare trees on fresh-fallen snow. The gentle murmur of a hidden stream that peeks through here and there. Birch, fir and maple mark the edges of the stream. And the single track of some unknown creature meandering by. I love these little quiet places in the winter woods.

I took a late day hike as far as the Ranger Station at Tuckerman Ravine last winter and the ravine was already well into shadow when I arrived. Framed 8x10 inch oil on panel painting.
