A Ridge Restored, 8x10 inch fine art print, White Mountains, New Hampshire

In 2024, the Franconia Ridge Loop trails faced a critical moment. Years of heavy foot traffic had worn the alpine terrain, threatening the delicate ecosystem that makes this circuit one of New England's most treasured hikes. The restoration project brought together conservation groups to rebuild eroded sections, stabilize fragile vegetation, and restore the ridge to its natural beauty. This print captures that spirit of renewal.

Standing atop Little Haystack Mountain on a clear summer day, I watched the ridge unfold in layers of gold and crimson, a landscape transformed by human care and commitment. The work of restoration isn't always visible in a single moment, but it lives in every step a hiker takes without disturbing the path, in every alpine flower that returns to bloom. This 8x10 inch fine art print honors that effort. It's the kind of piece that invites you to pause, remember the mountains, and consider the quiet work of those who protect them.
