Some valleys and ravines in the White Mountains of New Hampshire were scraped smooth by passing glaciers when they were created. Others are rough and craggy, splintered by rock falls and unevenly cut. King Ravine is like the latter, with overhanging crags and a basin strewn with boulders. Its walls catch the light and only increase its drama.
