In winter the world of the trail is full of white, gray, blue and black, but there are beautiful patterns to be found in the woods. This was the scene along the Crawford Path as it wends its way up from above Crawford Notch in New Hampshire's White Mountains. The late afternoon light streams in, creating striations of bright white among the blue shadows and dark tree trunks.
