One of the greatest things to do while out backcountry camping is to get up with the dawn and find a high spot from which to watch the sun rise over the mountains. Better yet when a bank of undercast clouds hangs in the valleys. This was the scene from West Bond peak over to Mt. Garfield, deep in the Pemigewasset Wilderness one late summer day. It is an incredibly quiet, soothing scene to behold, and I hope it brings a place of calm and peace to a corner of your home.
