"Outcrop," 18x20 inch oil on canvas painting

Price
$ 1,800

Even when you reach the highest ridge, the summit of the mountain, you feel compelled to climb up the last rock outcrop; that last nub of craggy granite from which you can survey your accomplishment. It's a deep seated instinct to be in high places. This painting depicts just such a rocky outlook along Franconia Ridge in the White Mountains on New Hampshire. The day was hazy and the light was slanting just so. The carpet of forests stretched out in all directions to be admired from this airy vista.
