Aside from White Mountain trails being steep and long, the very rocks themselves are a rough and tumble mix of boulders and slickrock slabs. For a painter, these rocks create interesting compositions everywhere you look. The light and shadow of sky and clouds mixed with the textures of rock and plant life makes each mountainside worth painting.
