This piece was sold during the "Winter in the Whites" exhibition at the Gallery at WREN in Bethlehem, New Hampshire, February-March 2021. 

In winter the world of the trail is so full of white, gray, blue and black that any pop of color stands out. So it is with trail blazes, sometimes painted in bright blue, red or yellow. This was the scene along the Avalon Trail as it wends its way up toward the Willey Ridge in New Hampshire's White Mountains. Magic, marshmallow trees line the trail and there, on a tree, is an occasional yellow blaze.
