"Walking the Range," oil on canvas
The Gulfside Trail is one of the most spectacular hikes in New Hampshire's White Mountains. Here I have tried to capture the enormity of the Presidential Range and the Great Gulf below, with some of mountains' ever-changing weather.
- Oil on stretched canvas, 2017
- 20" x 45" painting
- Gallery wrapped on 1¼" stretcher bars - the painting wraps around the edges of the canvas
About the route: From Mount Washington, the Gulfside Trail traverses the summits of Mount Clay and Mount Jefferson, skirting around the base of Mount Adams. It overlooks the Great Gulf Wilderness along the way, and Mount Madison can often be seen at the northern end of the range, among the hundreds of other peaks in the area.
