"Alpine Days" is a 9 by 12 inch framed oil on panel painting of the view above treeline on the Presidential Range of New Hampshire's White Mountains. One of the few reasons I'll get up really early is to have a full day of hiking above treeline. The alpine zone, with its stunted trees, amazing plant life and unbeatable views, is far and away my favorite part of the White Mountains.

Just a little slice of a river during peak foliage. I could have painted the whole scene of the river, the woods, and the sky above, but there was so much color and sparkle to be found just in this small passage of water and rocks that I was content to study it alone.
